hi staying in Berlin from 21.6. till the end of August Country: Mexico Victor Ezcurdia is one of the best known and respected dj´s in the psychedelic/progressive trance scene in Mexico. He always pleases the crowd with extraordinary sets that mix the essence and power of trance, creating a dynamic, groovy and hypnotic fusion. He has been djing for more than seven years and has also been involved in the production of trance music for four years now. His presence is essential at the best trance parties and festivals held all over Mexico and around the globe. Based in Mexico City, he has been playing all around the country for various years now. As head of the Sounds of Earth organization (www.soundsofearth.net), he has organized great trance parties in the Mexico City area with national talent as well as some of the best international dj´s. His involvement in the Mexican trance scene has definitely helped to shape it positively. In 2001, he signed with Spirit Zone Recordings (www.spiritzone.com), one of the most important trance labels in the world. Taking part in radio, he co-produced “Psychotherapy” (96.9 WFM), a weekly psy trance radio show with a big audience in Mexico (2002). His talent has taken him to play around the world in festivals like the Voov Experience 2001, 2004 (Germany), Sola Luna (Greece), Ypy Poty (Brazil), Lovefield (Germany), Shiva Moon (Germany), Universo Paralello (Brazil), Tshitraka (Germany), Tranceformation (Brazill), Indian Spirit (Germany), Festival de Independencia (Brazil), Vaikuntha (Germany), Sunvibe (Brazil), etc. After a long tour with many gigs in Europe this last summer, he closed his expedition opening the Main Floor of the Voov Experience in front of more than 10,000 people. He has played twice in the Tecnogeist/Loveparade gathering in Mexico
City, in front of more than 100,000 people. He has also played in Canada,
Austria, etc. and has played in international trance clubs like Natraj
Temple (Germany), Klathu (Brazill), Ov Silence (Germany), Freakadelic
(Brazil) Atisha (Germany) Mood Club (Brazil), Pulse (Brazil), and many
more; having the opportunity to play with all the best dj´s and
live acts of the trance scene. Vazik is definitely the Mexican dj with
the most international exposure and recognition at this moment and is
constantly required on some of the major trance festivals around the
globe. He compiled “Psycomex – The Peyote Trail” compilation for AP Records. This compilation includes 10 exclusive tracks of Mexican psy trance. It reflects the upcoming quality and power of the music that is coming from Mexico. As a head of Sounds of Earth, he is now preparing their first release as a label, focusing on the Mexican talent. He was recognized as the “Best Dj of the Year” by the DJ Dance Awards 2003, hosted in Acapulco, Mexico (www.djdance.com.mx) . This award is given every year based on popularity (votes are sent in by internet) and 2003 is the first year it has been given to a trance dj. At the DJ World Expo 2003, (Mexico City), Vazik was awarded “Best Psychedelic Trance Dj of the Year” (www.expodjsworld.com), the first year this category has been nominated also.
